Mudbox 2009: 'From the Ground Up' Wave 1 |
Wayne Robson's 'Mudbox 2009: From the Ground Up' was one of those surprise successes that come along rarely in the world of 3D. Its aim was simple - to provide in as easy to understand a way as possible, a total guide to using Mudbox. It succeeded spectacularly, with it being adopted and used as training by some of the biggest production houses in 3d and beginners alike.
Nothing is assumed with 'Wave 1', you are taken by the hand and shown not just how things work but why and shown case scenarios where you would use them. Once the interface and every tool in Mudbox is thoroughly explained, we then move on to sculpting and texturing a hard surface armour piece. This DVD aims to give any artist a excellent grounding in Mudbox and leave feeling confident in tackling their own projects in it. 'Wave' one has gained a reputation as must see videos for all Mudbox users. We're confident you will feel the same way after watching them.

(Book) Mudbox for Creative Artists (2009 Wordware) |
| |
| Being written under a blanket of complete secrecy Wayne Robson eagerly awaited 2nd book on Mudbox 2009 is due to hit the shelves later this year. While we can't tell you alot about this book for obvious reasons, we can say it will be unique and contain completley new workflows, artistic ideas and trademark 'Wayne pipelines' that you will find no where else. The only Mudbox book you'll ever need straight from the 'source' of more new mudbox workflows and pipelines than any other person in 3d. Wayne's DVD's and videos are considered an industry standard to Mudbox users and as a result since version 1 he has taught probably 80% of all mudbox artists in one way or another. (Now there's an intersting fact bound to rile some people up lol.) |

(Book) Essential Zbrush (Wordware) |
Essential Zbrush has been called by namy ZBrush user 'the missing manual' and 'the most in depth book on zbrush available'. Annoucemed with zero publicity and shunned by pixologic (Given Wayne's promotion of mudbox 2009 is this really suprising?)it rose by word of mouth alone to be a best seller. (No mean feat!) Wrote in a easy to understand yet indepth way anyone can pick up this book and be a ZBrush expert by its end. It is the longest book ever written on Zbrush and covers it from the gound up to an advanced level. It comes bundled wiht a exntenive 6 hour DVD and covers not only the hows and whys of the ZBrush interface that could be made into abook on its own), but also the creation of a FULL SCENE that users create through the length of the book.
The creation of a full scene was something that was never done before in a book on 3D, and there is a good chance it wont be done again for quite some time. This book established Wayne as a Zbrush expert and put quite a few noses out of joint to boot. After spending a year writing the book, on the day of its release Wayne switched to Mudbox 2009. ;) |
